Mr. Timothy Brochu is currently serving as the acting Deputy to the Commanding General for the 20th CBRNE Command. Previously, Tim served as the Director of Operations for the CBRNE Analytical and Remediation Activity (CARA) and as the command’s G37 director, responsible for the training and readiness of 63 units across 19 installations and 16 states. As G37, he was the 20th CBRNE lead representative to the Army Sourcing and Resourcing Conference hosted at FORSCOM, validating training and exercise requirements for the headquarters while aligning them with deployment missions.
Mr. Brochu began his federal service in the U.S. Army in 2003 as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician. He deployed in support of Operation Iraqi
Freedom in 2005 as an EOD team member, and deployed again for 15 months in 2007-2008 as an EOD team leader. On active duty he served in numerous leadership roles from team leader, platoon sergeant, and Battalion Operations NCOIC. In 2010, he was medically separated from the Army due to injuries sustained during combat operations. From 2010-2016 he served as an exercise planner for the 20th CBRNE Command and a program manager for a contracting organization. In 2016 he returned to federal service as an exercise planner for the 20th CBRNE Command G37, where he executed exercises across the globe ensuring the Soldiers were prepared to perform their wartime and CONUS missions. Some of the major exercises that he led were Prominent Hunt in support of the National Technical Nuclear Forensics Ground Collection Task Force which is an interagency exercise, Key Resolve/Ulchi Freedom Guardian in support of the Combined Forces Command Korea, and numerous Capstone Training Events and Warfighter Exercises (WFX) for CBRNE formations preparing to deploy.

Tim is married to the former Sarah Shewmaker of Short Hills, New Jersey. They have two sons and a daughter
